Accessible living

Disabled & age-aware bathrooms

We focus on safer day-to-day movement, comfort, and a non-clinical finish — unless a clinical setup is specifically required.

Access

Low-entry and step-free shower access.

Where lower access is needed, we plan entries, thresholds, and movement space so getting in and out is safer and less stressful.

Safety

Anti-slip surfaces and stable transitions.

Slip resistance matters most in wet zones — but the transitions and levels are just as important as the materials.

Support

Grab rails, grips, and fold-down seating positioned properly.

Support features work best when placed for real movement. We plan positions and fixing points carefully so it feels solid and confidence-inspiring.

Comfort

Toilet facilities designed for comfort and ease of use.

Accessible and age-aware needs overlap, but they’re not identical. We focus on comfort, positioning, and usability based on how the space is used.

Systems

Ventilation, heating, and lighting that reduce risk.

Condensation, cold floors, and poor lighting can create real problems. We plan a bathroom that’s comfortable, safe, and easy to maintain.

Accessible first

Safety, independence and confidence — without a clinical look.

Accessible and age-aware bathrooms work best when they’re designed around real movement: entry, turning, support positions, lighting and day-to-day comfort — with a finish that still feels like a home.

What’s included

  • Level-access shower solutions and safer circulation space
  • Grab rails, seating, anti-slip finishes and smart positioning
  • Practical layouts built around mobility and comfort

Final scope is confirmed during survey and matched to the person using the space.

We can work from OT notes, council-style requirements, or a personal brief. If guidance conflicts with what the space can physically allow, we’ll explain the trade-offs clearly and recommend the safest workable solution.

OT / council-style guidance

Practical, transparent, and built around the person using the space.

If you have recommendations from OT, a council pack, or mobility requirements, we can follow them — and we’ll explain any constraints clearly if the room needs a smarter workaround.

Open: How we work with OT notes and accessibility guidance

What we look for, how we interpret it on-site, and how we turn it into a usable layout.

Working from OT guidance

  • • We can follow recommended heights, positions and clearances
  • • We’ll talk through practical options for your space
  • • We can advise on fixtures that match the intent of the guidance

Council-style requirements (where relevant)

  • • We can build around common adaptation needs
  • • We’ll be transparent if constraints affect what’s feasible
  • • We’ll propose safe alternatives if needed

What we can’t promise

We can’t confirm funding eligibility or approval outcomes. If approvals are needed, they sit with the relevant authority. Our role is to build a safe, practical bathroom to the agreed scope.

What to share with us

If you have OT notes, measurements, or a recommended equipment list, include them when requesting a quote so we can plan properly.

FAQs

Common questions before you commit.

If you have specific requirements, OT notes or accessibility guidance, we can review them during survey and confirm the cleanest, safest way to achieve it in your space.

Do you install level-access showers?

Yes — we design and install level-access solutions with waterproofing and reliable drainage.

Can you work to specific needs or recommendations?

Yes — we can follow occupational therapy guidance or personal requirements to build a safer space.

Do you remove and dispose of the old bathroom and waste?

Yes — waste removal is included as part of the job where agreed. Depending on access and project size, we’ll use either a suitable skip, or grab-hire. With grab-hire, waste is placed outside on a temporary boarded surface we supply, then collected by a lorry using a hydraulic clam-shell. All waste is handled by licensed operators and disposed of legally and ethically, with recycling used wherever possible.

Advice is always confirmed against your room size, access, existing services and chosen products.
